REPLACEMENTS GALLERY
This gallery includes Fixed Bridges and Implant solutions. Although implants are "state of the art" there are certain situations where fixed bridges are selected by the patient or required by the dentist.
Allison
The Challenge
Allison was referred to our office by a specialist. Our challenge was to create an inconspicuous and natural replacement for her missing lateral incisor. An implant had been placed by the specialist.
The Solution
A provisional restoration was first designed to form the tissues to an ideal contour. Then a custom zirconium base structure was used to help create natural colors and translucency in the all-ceramic crown.
Sarah
The Challenge
When one of Sarah’s cuspid teeth remained impacted, it caused major problems and affected her upper smile. Two affected teeth had required removal, leaving an unsightly defect. The challenge was to replace the missing teeth and restore a natural smile.
The Solution
An extreme esthetic challenge presents when multiple adjacent front teeth are missing. To avoid cutting down Sarah's remaining natural teeth for a bridge, a single dental implant was placed. Two ceramic crowns constructed of tissue colored pressed-composite were attached to the single implant, providing a hygienic and attractive result, which made Sarah ecstatic!
Jean
The Challenge
Having a front tooth break off can be painful and embarrassing. Jean wanted an immediate solution. After discussing various treatment options, she then remarked that she had also always been self-conscious about the pointed tooth on the right side of her smile, and a few other concerns came up.
The Solution
New technologies allow for redesigning tooth shapes and sizes to reshape the mal-positioned teeth with a combination of Empress Veneers and crowns. For Jean, both the pain and embarrassment are now a distant memory.
Ivis
The Challenge
Ivis had a bridge as a result of an accident early in life. The supporting teeth for the bridge were later lost, leaving the patient with choices to make regarding the replacement.
The Solution
Implants were placed to support a new three tooth bridge. This is a much stronger and more hygienic solution than making a larger five or six tooth bridge. Ivis chose to have additional dentistry for a brighter overall smile.
Dick
The Challenge
Dick had a long-term bridge that was failing. The goal was to develop a healthy looking new smile that eliminated the bridge and facilitated oral hygiene.
The Solution
A multi-disciplinary approach utilized the services of one of our local implant specialists. Dr. Strain then restored the front teeth with a combination of ceramic crowns and veneers. The exceptional look comes from placing minor amounts of natural wear on the edges of these teeth.
Lana
The Challenge
Lana had been in an accident, destroying her front teeth and much of the bone that went with it. She had worn a removable partial denture for years, but was not satisfied with its appearance and it was loose. The remaining teeth are too far apart to support a fixed bridge.
The Solution
Several implants were used to support a fixed bridge that has pink Musette porcelain replacing the missing gum tissue. Additional crowns were place on the remaining dark teeth to complete a beautiful smile.
Dennis
The Challenge
Dennis's old bridge had unsightly dark margins. His smile displayed teeth of unmatched shades and there were size discrepancies between the right and left lateral incisors.
The Solution
An all-ceramic bridge and adjacent all-ceramic crowns on his six front teeth provided a much more natural and harmonious smile.
Doug
The Challenge
Having struggled with an upper denture, Doug was looking for a secure solution with the stability of natural teeth.
The Solution
"He chose an implant supported hybrid denture. In this case the horseshoe based denture replicates dental and soft tissues and is secured by snapping onto the base that is screwed onto the implants. More advanced solutions would have been a screwed on or cemented hybrid denture/bridge or a porcelain bridge.
