Sonya
The Challenge
The old crowns (caps) on Sonya' two front teeth did not match her other teeth and the shapes did not match each other. She had very atypical colors in her natural teeth.
The Solution
Although a full smile makeover would have looked great, Sonya was only prepared to have the two crowns replaced. Attention to ideal tooth form and photographic communication with our amazing ceramic technician gave this result.
Sharon
The Challenge
An old bonded restoration had come off Sharon's front tooth. Her two front teeth tilted inward, which made them less prominent in her smile..
The Solution
Two veneers were matched perfectly to her lighter lateral incisors. The whitening made it necessary to also replace on old composite restoration on the right lateral incisor. Sharon plans to replace crowns on her back teeth in the future.
Jorge
The Challenge
Jorge's two front teeth were undersized and eroded from sucking on citrus fruit. His other teeth were very nicely formed and colored.
The Solution
This is an excellent situation for very conservative veneers, such as ultrathin veneers or Lumineers. Dr. Strain developed very natural colorations in the veneers to match the other front teeth.
Allison
The Challenge
Allison was referred to our office by a specialist. Our challenge was to create an inconspicuous and natural replacement for her missing lateral incisor. An implant had been placed by the specialist.
The Solution
A provisional restoration was first designed to form the tissues to an ideal contour. Then a custom zirconium base structure was used to help create natural colors and translucency in the all-ceramic crown.
Sarah
The Challenge
When one of Sarah’s cuspid teeth remained impacted, it caused major problems and affected her upper smile. Two affected teeth had required removal, leaving an unsightly defect. The challenge was to replace the missing teeth and restore a natural smile.
The Solution
An extreme esthetic challenge is presented when multiple adjacent front teeth are missing. To avoid cutting down Sarah's remaining natural teeth for a bridge, a single dental implant was placed. Two ceramic crowns constructed of tissue colored pressed-composite were attached to the single implant, providing a hygienic and attractive result, which made Sarah ecstatic!
Sheila
The Challenge
Sheila did not like the space between her central incisors and the unnatural look of the four front teeth..
The Solution
TThis case required a diagnostic wax-up. With this planning we moved ahead with assurance, providing four new all-ceramic crowns with improved shapes, inclinations and translucency. Minor laser gum contouring helped make this case a success.
