The Challenge

The Challenge
When one of Sarah’s cuspid teeth remained impacted, it caused major problems and affected her upper smile. Two affected teeth had required removal, leaving an unsightly defect. The challenge was to replace the missing teeth and restore a natural smile.
The Solution
An extreme esthetic challenge is presented when multiple adjacent front teeth are missing. To avoid cutting down Sarah's remaining natural teeth for a bridge, a single dental implant was placed. Two ceramic crowns constructed of tissue colored pressed-composite were attached to the single implant, providing a hygienic and attractive result, which made Sarah ecstatic!
Pamela
The Challenge
Pamela had been teased so much about the appearance of her smile that she broke into tears as she discussed her feelings. She wanted a "Hollywood Smile" as part of her personal makeover, so that she never had to be ashamed of smiling again.
The Solution
While orthodontics would have been the recommended course of treatment, after consulting her family, Pamela asked for options with faster results. Her final decision included tissue recontouring and trial restorations on a few teeth so she could evaluate possibilities during a short healing period. In the end, eighteen ceramic veneers completed the makeover, resulting in a truly transformed smile.
Sid
The Challenge
The appearance of his smile was Sid's main concern. His teeth were worn and he could not show them even with his biggest effort at a smile. He asked for a new smile that looked as young as he feels.
The Solution

Jean
The Challenge
Having a front tooth break off can be painful and embarrassing. Jean wanted an immediate solution. After discussing various treatment options, she then remarked that she had also always been self-conscious about the pointed tooth on the right side of her smile, and a few other concerns came up.

New technologies allow for redesigning tooth shapes and sizes to reshape the mal-positioned teeth with a combination of Empress Veneers and crowns. For Jean, both the pain and embarrassment are now a distant memory.
Frank
The Challenge
Frank's feelings about his smile were strongly influenced by the teasing he received as a young boy. He suffered from enamel fluorosis as a result of drinking from uncontrolled well water. This condition causes discoloration and pitted enamel, making the teeth hard to clean. All he ever wanted was a nice, normal smile.
The Solution
Ten upper and ten lower Empress Veneers were utilized to correct the open bite, improve the smile line and eliminate the blotchy white and brown appearance. Frank no longer worries about teasing, and that makes him smile.
Vickie
The Challenge
Vickie had old porcelain crowns that she felt were had become too yellow. She also wanted the space closed between her upper front teeth, but with a minimal amount of dentistry.
The Solution
Wide spaces between front teeth can be difficult to fill in without making the teeth look "boxy" or unnatural. Combination treatment included light trimming of the gum tissue, which created space to achieve a more natural proportion for the front teeth without unusual contours. Two all-ceramic crowns achieved the desired result. For Vickie, her smile is now a win-win.
Terri
The Challenge
Terri was the winner of a local radio competition for an extreme makeover. The prize included extensive plastic surgery, gastric-bypass surgery, and surgery to remove excess tissue after her 150 pounds of weight loss. The new Terri now wanted the perfect smile, but was more than a little scared of more surgery.
The Solution
"Instant" makeovers rarely allow time for orthodontic procedures, which would have been an excellent complement to Terri's treatment. The Studio Dentistry team came up with the perfect solution and the perfect smile for Terri including minor gum recontouring, straightening of crooked teeth, a fixed bridge on the upper left and the widening of her smile, so she ended up with more visible teeth. Terri said "Wow!" after receiving her makeover. Like many patients, her past fears were easily overcome with treatment under conscious sedation.
