Unlike most beauty pageants, these competitions train the contestants to return to their home country or state to help other women in need. Dr. Tracy Kemble, President of W.I.N. and the Mrs. Globe pageant was herself a former beauty pageant winner. Aware that beauty and abuse are often linked together, Dr. Kemble transformed the beauty pageant to a positive and growing experience for the contestants. W.I.N. also provides training and counseling outside of the pageant venue. One such program is the Raise Your Standards Program on college campuses.
One of the ways many contestants improve their self-esteem during the program is with a smile makeover. Nationally prominent dentists donate their services by providing new smiles. This usually entails veneers on the upper front teeth. Dr. Rob Strain of Rancho Mirage provided veneer services for Mrs. Mexico and Ms. Alabama. With her new smile, Eva Rosales was also won the “Face of the Year” Award. She will be featured prominently in national advertising by MAC Veneers.
